34th Motorized Battalion Eliminates Invaders in Shelters Using TM-62 Mines

The infantrymen of the 34th Motorized Infantry Battalion used TM-62 anti-tank mines to eliminate Russian invaders in a shelter.

The video of the explosion was published by the battalion’s official page on platform X.

The fighters of the Vovkodav unit used anti-tank mines to blow up enemy shelters, resulting in the invaders inside being either eliminated or trapped.

Thanks to their high power and substantial explosive charge, these mines are effectively used to destroy fortifications built by the enemy in Vovchansk, the Kharkiv region.

The weight of a TM-62 mine ranges from 8 to 13 kg, of which 7 to 11 kg is explosive material (depending on the casing material).

It’s worth noting that this method of mine deployment is not new – the soldiers of the 81st Airmobile Brigade have previously demonstrated it while clearing enemy trenches in the Luhansk region.

To give the soldier time to retreat to a safe distance after placing the mine, modifications are made to its design – a detonating cord is added.

After igniting the cord, the soldier has a certain amount of time, depending on the cord’s length, to place or throw the mine into the enemy’s dugout. The burn rate of the cord is approximately 1 cm per second.

In addition, TM-62 mines are also used with unmanned ground platforms.

For example, engineers of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade have created a kamikaze drone equipped with anti-tank mines instead of a standard warhead.

Meanwhile, this method of clearing positions should be supported by other units to avoid detection by enemy UAVs.

Militarnyi previously reported that during an assault on the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, a Russian soldier had attempted to reach the front line having carried an anti-tank mine.
