Caught on the Ground: NEMESIS Unmanned Systems Brigade Strikes Russian Gerbera UAV on Launch Vehicle

Ukraine’s 412th Separate Unmanned Systems Brigade, NEMESIS, reported the destruction of a Russian Gerbera UAV at the moment it was being prepared for launch.

The brigade published corresponding footage on its official Telegram channel.

The strike followed the discovery of a Russian vehicle carrying the drone by operators of the Asgard unit using a reconnaissance UAV.

To prevent the launch, the operators decided to strike immediately, setting the vehicle intended to deploy the drone on fire.

According to the unit’s press service, such cases are relatively rare, as these UAVs are more commonly shot down in the air.

The Russian military uses the Gerbera not only as a strike UAV, but also for reconnaissance and as a decoy, primarily during large-scale missile and drone attacks on Ukraine.

The drone is made of plywood and foam, making it lightweight.

The brigade noted that, in addition to being used over Ukrainian territory, such drones have also been employed by Russia to violate the airspace of European countries, primarily Poland, Moldova, and Lithuania.
