Denmark Orders Ammunition for Armored Vehicles and Artillery from Rheinmetall

Denmark has signed an agreement with the German company Rheinmetall for the supply of ammunition for various types of equipment and artillery.

The company reported that the agreement is valid for seven years.

The contract provides for the supply of several types of ammunition, including medium-caliber ammunition for infantry fighting vehicles and self-propelled anti-aircraft guns, 120 mm ammunition for main battle tanks, and 155 mm ammunition for artillery.

The first orders in the medium-caliber ammunition segment cover various types of 30 × 173 mm and 35 × 228 mm caliber rounds.

“The total number is in the tens of thousands, and the order value is several hundred million euros,” the company said.

As part of the supply of 120 mm tank ammunition, Rheinmetall will deliver more than 1,000 rounds of kinetic ammunition. The value of this order is estimated at several tens of millions of euros.

Last year, BAE Systems received a contract from Denmark to supply 44 additional CV90 Mk.IIIC infantry fighting vehicles.
