Drone Attack Cuts Power to Part of Occupied Donetsk

A strike by attack drones has left part of Donetsk, temporarily occupied by Russian forces, without power.

According to local Telegram channels cited by Astra, the large-scale drone assault started shortly after 11:00 p.m. on Monday, July 28.

Locals heard the distinctive sounds of flying drones and the enemy’s air defense systems in action. Videos were shared across various groups.

Dozens of explosions were reported both within the city and its outskirts, as noted by social media users.

In addition, explosions were heard in occupied Makiyivka, which is essentially a suburb of Donetsk.

Later, the company Donetskelektro, controlled by the Russian invaders, announced that as a result of the attack, over 150,000 customers in Donetsk, Makiyivka, and Yasynuvata were left without electricity.

On June 30, during a missile strike by the Ukrainian Defense Forces on the command center of the 8th Combined Arms Army of Russia in Donetsk, the head of communications for this unit was eliminated.
