More information is emerging about the powerful explosion at the Elastik gunpowder plant in the Ryazan region of the Russian Federation. According to the latest information, the number of people killed in the explosion at the plant in the Ryazan region has increased to 11 people. Another 130 people were injured, 29 of them were taken to hospitals with various injuries.
The death toll and injuries could rise as the search and rescue operation at the site continues. The search for workers still inside continues under the rubble of the completely destroyed workshop . The preliminary version of the explosion is the detonation of ammunition. After the explosion, a fire broke out, which engulfed the building. Russian authorities say the incident is not related to a drone attack.
The Elastic plant is a key manufacturer of explosives and ammunition components used by the Russian army in the war against Ukraine. The company’s products are used to equip artillery, missile systems and other equipment that shells Ukrainian cities. Such a serious emergency at a military facility is good news for Ukraine.
