Former Ukrainian Prime Minister and opposition leader of the "Batkivshchyna" political party, Yulia Tymoshenko, has been reportedly accused by Ukraine’s anti-corruption authorities of orchestrating a scheme to bribe members of parliament for loyal votes.
She strongly denies the allegations as politically motivated. The claims surfaced after a failed parliamentary vote on the appointment of a new energy minister, with investigators releasing audio said to implicate her in vote-buying discussions.
Despite the controversy, Ukraine’s parliament later approved Mykhailo Fedorov as defense minister and Denys Shmyhal as energy minister, both pledging urgent reforms amid the war. Meanwhile, Russia continued overnight missile and drone attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, causing widespread power outages and civilian casualties across several regions.
