The German Ministry of Defense plans to sign a framework agreement for the purchase of approximately 500 MARS 3 rocket launchers, also known as EuroPULS. Parliamentary consideration of this project is expected to take place in the second half of 2026.
This was reported by hartpunkt with reference to its own sources.
Half of the ordered systems are intended directly for the needs of the German army. The rest will be available for purchase by allied countries on the same terms and at the same price as for the Bundeswehr.
Ammunition for MARS 3
In addition to the launchers themselves, the military department is preparing large contracts for the supply of ammunition, worth several billion euros. By 2030, the troops are to receive a five-digit number of artillery rockets with a range of 150 km.
In the future, it is planned to expand the arsenal with rockets with a range of 300 km and loitering munitions.

The possibility of purchasing special missiles for mining with a range of over 100 kilometers and ammunition with SMArt self-guided submunitions is also being considered.
In the medium term, the Bundeswehr is exploring the possibility of integrating missiles with a range of up to 500 km. Among the potential candidates are the joint development of MBDA Deutschland — Joint Fire Support Missile, as well as the adaptation of RBS15 and NSM anti-ship missiles.
