Ghosts Unit of Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence Hit Kalibr-Equipped Warship in Sea of Azov

Drones operated by the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine have struck a Russian Buyan-M-class missile ship (Project 21631) in the Sea of Azov.

The press service of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine released the video confirming the strike.

Vessels of this class are equipped with Kalibr cruise missiles, which Russia has used to attack Ukraine since 2022.

Soldiers of the Department of Active Operations of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine and the special unit “Ghosts” of the Defence Intelligence performed the special operation.

The strike on the aggressor state’s warship took place on Thursday, August 28, near temporarily occupied Crimea.

“Soldiers of the Ghosts special unit of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine damaged the ship’s radar system with a drone strike, while the special forces of the Department of Active Operations of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine attacked the vessel carrying Kalibr missiles,” the statement reads.

According to intelligence officers, as a result of the strikes, the Russian missile ship located in the Temryuk Bay sustained damage and was forced to leave its combat patrol area.
