Robert Lewandowski bid an emotional farewell to Barcelona’s Camp Nou on Sunday as LaLiga champions Barcelona beat Real Betis 3–1, turning the night into a tribute to one of the club’s modern greats.
“It was a great honor to play for this club. I will always have Barcelona in my heart,” said Lewandowski. “From day one, I felt at home. I’ll never forget how you sang my name.”
Lewandowski leaves Barcelona after four seasons in which he won three LaLiga titles, a Copa del Rey, and three Spanish Super Cups. He has scored 119 goals in just over 190 appearances, placing him 14th on the club’s all-time scoring list.
