In his view, Trump’s revival of the Monroe Doctrine shows a desire to pull back from alliances and keep power tightly in America’s hands, even if that upsets allies. Jasser stresses that most Americans don’t actually share Trump’s skepticism toward NATO, and Congress has already stepped in to limit any drastic moves. On the Epstein files, he believes the issue keeps haunting Trump because he promised transparency but then seemed to block it once it became politically risky. He warns that this could hurt Trump not just with Democrats, but also inside his own political base.
