One of the main propagandists of the Russian regime, Vladimir Solovyov, suddenly acknowledged the economic problems in Russia and spoke about it publicly. In one of his broadcasts, the propagandist aired an inconvenient truth about the country’s economic situation for the entire Russian public. Specifically, he touched on the banking sector and pointed out the overwhelming debt burdens facing the population.
"I don’t understand what banks are suggesting – take out loans with such interest rates that, when you take them out, you have to sell a kidney right away. What are we trying to achieve? Hold the 156th unnecessary conference with the participation of a mega-regulator Central Bank, who will tell people that what they see is not white, but black. Just don’t go to the store. The entire activity of the mega-regulator is reminiscent of the film ‘Don’t Look Up ,’" the propagandist said. Solovyov also wondered what the Russian occupiers who are lucky enough to return from Ukraine will do after the war, as they are used to receiving 200,000 rubles a month for their participation in the war, and such salaries are not available in Russia. "People will return home from the front, and what awaits them? An economy that’s ready to create jobs for half a million people, so that people accustomed to a salary of over two hundred thousand rubles will agree to at least 150,000? Of course. Can you show me where those salaries are?" the propagandist asked. He added that even in Moscow, small and medium-sized businesses, including shops and restaurants, are currently closing due to the population’s lack of money. "You walk and see: these restaurants are closing, these little shops are closing. Why? People have money problems. Empty new developments all over the country. Because who can buy it, who can afford it?" the propagandist noted. Solovyov also criticized the authorities for trying to brighten the economic picture by using misleading language. "And what’s their goal? The main thing is to avoid using smart words like ‘stagflation.’ Or if we can’t combat these stupid indicators, then let’s call it ‘technical’ – we don’t have a recession, but a technical recession. And what’s technical about it?" the propagandist asked.
Media previously reported that a wave of unrest is sweeping across Russia due to the sharp rise in housing and utilities prices, but Russians are likely to face further increases.
Russians had barely recovered from their January utility bills, and the Russian regime is already preparing a new surprise for them. The Russian Ministry of Construction has supported an initiative to increase the cost of management company services. The corresponding statement was made by the head of the Ministry, Irek Fayzullin, at a meeting of the State Duma’s relevant committee, as quoted by Russian media.
Russian parliamentarians say that in the current situation, management companies are effectively deprived of the ability to revise prices for their services, which "creates serious risks for the quality of housing services."
They argue that, given the new tax rules, management companies face a difficult choice: either reduce their service levels or curtail the scope of work. And, according to the deputies, raising tariffs "could partially offset the increased financial burden."
Faizullin, for his part, agreed that without tariff adjustments, management companies will have difficulty maintaining the proper condition of the housing stock and utility infrastructure. The State Duma has already prepared a bill amending the Housing Code, which should take into account the changed economic conditions for management companies.
