Lithuania to Prosecute Six Foreigners for Preparing Sabotage Against Aid to Ukraine

Six foreigners have been charged in Lithuania with planning a terrorist act against a private company that supplied equipment to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

This was reported by LRT.

According to the Lithuanian Prosecutor General’s Office, the company in question is UAB TVC Solutions, located in Šiauliai.

The planned attack in September 2024 targeted the infrastructure and products of the Lithuanian company. In particular, mobile stations for radio spectrum analysis intended for the Ukrainian military (radio technical reconnaissance).

Prosecutors said the group’s activities were likely coordinated from Russia by Cuban and Colombian citizens linked to Russian military intelligence (GRU).

The indictment was drawn up on January 12 and submitted to the Šiauliai District Court on January 14.

The foreigners were charged with participating in a terrorist group, attempting to commit a terrorist act, and financing terrorist activities.

“The defendants have different nationalities: one Spanish citizen, one citizen with dual Spanish-Colombian citizenship, as well as citizens of Colombia, Cuba, Russia, and Belarus,” said prosecutor Artūras Urbelis.

Four other suspects are currently under investigation. One of them was arrested in Colombia on the basis of an international warrant, and the procedure for his extradition to Lithuania is currently underway.

International arrest warrants have also been issued for the other three.

It should be noted that Lithuania plans to allocate at least 0.25% of its GDP annually to assist Ukraine in the field of security and defense.

This includes continuing the training of Ukrainian military personnel, supplying equipment, and providing comprehensive support to Kyiv.
