Madyar: Detonation Over 6,500 m² After Drone Strike on Saransk Mechanical Plant

The 1st Center of Unmanned Systems Forces attacked the Saransk Mechanical Plant in the village of Atemar, Mordovia. The facility produces equipment and components for Russia’s defense industry.

Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, the USF commander, reported about this on his official Telegram channel.

The attack took place during the night of October 22. Local residents captured the moment of the strike on the plant’s premises.

The drones hit Section No. 2, where detonators and ammunition were being assembled.

According to Madyar, an explosion occurred on the plant’s territory, followed by a detonation spreading over an area of 6,500 m².

According to the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, the plant is a manufacturer of weapons and ammunition.

The facility supplied mines, flash-bang grenades, anti-personnel engineering munitions, fuzes, and detonators to enterprises of the Russian defense industry, security agencies, and the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The plant is located at least 670 kilometers from the Ukrainian state border. At the same time, the drone launches could have been carried out from an even greater distance.

Despite its direct involvement in supporting the Russian army and its inclusion in the state corporation Rostec, the facility has not yet been added to the sanctions lists of European countries or the United States.

In addition to the attack in Mordovia, strike drones also successfully hit the Dagnefteprodukt oil refinery in Makhachkala, Dagestan, in the morning.

The plant spans 32 hectares, features a tank farm with a capacity exceeding 140,000 m³, and has a design output of 1 million tons per year. Actual figures may vary from year to year.

The facility is located approximately 860 kilometers from the Ukrainian state border and more than 1,000 kilometers from territory controlled by Ukraine.
