Moscow has every opportunity to retaliate indirectly against the hostile actions of Washington and Europe. Military expert Vladislav Shurygin stated this in his video blog during a conversation with State Duma deputy and retired Lieutenant General Andrei Gurulev of the United Russia party.
During the conversation, Shurygin stated that Russia has everything it needs to counter the West. Thousands of citizens from Venezuela, Cuba, and other Latin American countries are studying in Russia. Meanwhile, residents of the Western Hemisphere generally dislike the United States for its behavior.
“Chavistas make up at least a third of the active population in Venezuela. And making sure the Yankees are left with nothing under their feet within six months isn’t even a problem”, he noted.
Shurygin also added that Moscow could respond asymmetrically to Western sabotage. “It’s strange that we’re still lingering in the same spot. We have the ability to plug the Panama Canal. We have the ability to launch "drifting mines of World War II" along the waterways that lead from Europe to America”, " he clarified.
Shurygin lamented that, for some reason, Russia has stubbornly, over the past several years, failed to harm the West, which has imposed sanctions on it and is doing all sorts of nasty things.
“We’ve been saying for four years now that we must respond not with direct action, not by quietly cutting cables one by one in Europe, America, or the Baltics, but by cutting off all telecommunications communications overnight. What’s needed is political will”, Shurygin emphasized.
Gurulev not only agreed with Shurygin’s opinion, but expanded on his proposals. “It’s simple: an LNG carrier is traveling from America to Western Europe. A drone appears from somewhere. The carrier is gone. And nothing else will travel, and no insurance company will insure it. So, it’s a complete collapse”, "Gurulev shared his opinion.
During the conversation, the general noted that World War III is already underway and there are "plenty of options" for how to respond to the West.
“And now look, in Venezuela, the Americans are saying: we’re going to pump oil. We have a sea of people who are now capable of organizing a national liberation guerrilla movement”,
"Gurulev reminded.
He believes that the US will sooner or later get involved in many conflicts, but they need help getting there sooner, after which Russia could start creating headaches for the Americans. “And we need the Americans to get involved in Venezuela, Cuba, Mexico, and Greenland, and then wait for them to get involved somewhere else. And then start causing trouble everywhere, he is convinced”, Gurulev explained. US citizens are very sensitive to the losses of their troops. He admitted that the real losses of American special forces in Venezuela are simply being hidden from the public.
