https://www.youtube.com/user/kanal13az?sub_confirmation=1 – SUBSCRIBE TO US!NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte met with Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov on Thursday ahead of a NATO defense ministers meeting in Brussels.
According to Associated Press at a short joint media briefing, Rutte said supporting Ukraine remains NATO’s top priority.
”NATO allies are working diligently and every day to make sure that the security guarantees are as strong as possible post a, hopefully soon, ceasefire, long term or, even better, peace deal," he said.
Fedorov thanked Rutte for NATO’s continued support.
"We have our vision for this year and we will present this vision today at Ukraine Defense Contact Group and I think we will get good support from our partners today,” he said.
The Ukraine Defense Contact Group is an alliance of 57 countries and the European Union supporting the defence of Ukraine.
The scheme was proudly championed by the Pentagon under former U.S. President Biden and is now chaired by the U.K. and Germany.
U.K. Defense Secretary John Healey announced that Britain would provide “an extra half a billion pounds in urgent air defense to Ukraine".
"This is Britain being a force for good in the world, building a new deal for European security within NATO.”
Sweden also intends to fund the purchase of more American weapons.
The Netherlands will send more flight simulators to help Ukrainian fighter pilots train to fly F-16 jets.
