Ukrainian company Odd Systems has introduced Svitlych-662, its first daytime tactical digital camera.
The company shared with Militarnyi that Svitlych-662 is a full-color camera with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels.
It is built on a modern, highly sensitive sensor designed for low-light operation.
“This is a mass digital camera for the front line, adapted to the requirements of the military, ready for mass production and use,” Roman Medvedev, CEO of Odd Systems, said.
The device is equipped with a MIPI CSI-2 interface and is designed for integration into computer vision systems, including drones, from small unmanned aerial vehicles to unmanned ground vehicles and stationary surveillance systems.
Direct connection to single-board computers reduces data transmission latency, which is critical for computer vision algorithms and real-time image processing.
The development of Svitlych-662, like Kurbas thermal camera line, is part of Odd Systems’ strategy to provide frontline Ukrainian technological solutions described as the “eyes of the battlefield.”
Key features include improved performance in twilight conditions, providing Full HD image quality in low light.
The camera is optimized for computer vision algorithms. The MIPI CSI-2 interface provides low latency and reduced motion blur, improving object-tracking accuracy.
It is compatible with the Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W platform, includes a stable software stack and drivers, and is designed for easy integration into various systems.
The design allows customization for specific tasks, including mounting options, housing configurations, different lenses, and cable setups, including coaxial cable for stable signal transmission.
The reinforced housing is designed for field durability and optical protection. Odd Systems also provides technical support for integration and adaptation.
In March, Odd Systems presented a new thermal imaging camera, the Kurbas-640 Beta.
