The Russian Z-channel "Naval Power of the State," which frequently reports on the state of the aggressor country’s navy, published footage of a Ukrainian drone attack on the port of Novorossiysk. It called the operation one of the most effective of the entire full-scale war. In Russia itself, few people know about the attack . Russian authorities and state media have said almost nothing about it to the public, despite the serious consequences.
“Recently, Ukraine carried out one of the most successful operations of the entire war in Novorossiysk. But I wouldn’t be surprised that many haven’t even heard of it; it wasn’t as high-profile as ‘Spider Web ,’" the channel wrote.
According to him, the strike damaged an S-400 air defense system. The detonation destroyed four of the seven launchers, along with two radar systems – the 96N6 and 92N6. After the air defenses were suppressed, a Neptune missile strike was launched against the area, targeting the Sheskharis oil terminal. This facility is a key maritime hub for fuel supplies for Russia. The attack was particularly painful for the aggressor country’s economy. Exports of petroleum products through the terminal were temporarily halted. For Russia, this means a short-term loss of approximately 20 percent of its total petroleum product exports and approximately 15 percent of its oil exports. Globally, this represents approximately 2 percent of all oil trade, making the strike strategically significant.
Media previously reported that Kazakhstan took emergency measures to export oil following the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ attack on the Caspian Pipeline Consortium terminal in Novorossiysk.
The Kazakh Ministry of Energy condemned the strikes on "civilian facilities" and announced the urgent rerouting of oil supplies to alternative routes . The department stated that the CPC pipeline system is an international project and is critical to the global energy system. Astana complained that attacks on this infrastructure are causing economic damage to consortium members, including Kazakhstan. To avoid production cuts at major fields, the Kazakh government quickly activated its backup plan. Export volumes of oil began to be rerouted to alternate routes—temporary and alternative logistics channels that allow crude shipments to continue without critical delays. The statement also stated that this situation is "under special monitoring in the economic sphere of Kazakhstan." However, the Kazakh government omitted to mention that the incident was a consequence of Russia’s ongoing military aggression against Ukraine and made no condemnatory statements against the Kremlin. It should be noted that, according to international law, Ukraine has every right to attack Russian facilities used by the aggressor country to fuel its military machine. Ukraine is a victim in this war and has every right to defend itself.
