Part of Crimea Left Without Power During Ukrainian Drone Attack

During an air raid alert, parts of Crimea lost electricity, and water supply disruptions were reported in Feodosia.

According to the ChP/Krym Telegram channel, power went out in about half of Sevastopol around 8:00 p.m. on March 1. The Russian-installed authorities in Crimea described the incident as an ‘accident’ and a ‘technical malfunction,’ without mentioning any possible drone strike on the energy infrastructure.

Later, Russia’s Ministry of Defence reported that 35 Ukrainian drones had been shot down over Crimea, the Black Sea, and the Sea of Azov.

A second air raid alert was then announced, including in Feodosia, after which water supply in the city was cut off. As of the morning of March 2, reports indicated that electricity had been restored.

It is worth recalling that Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces, along with a launcher, eliminated the commander of a division of Russia’s S-400 air defense missile system in temporarily occupied Crimea.

The strike on components of Russia’s air defense system on the peninsula was carried out by drones on the night of February 25.
