Partner countries have committed $43 billion in military assistance to Ukraine for 2025, according to National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov.
Miltarnyi’s correspondent has reported this news, citing Umerov. The Secretary disclosed the figure during a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG), a coalition coordinating military support for Ukraine.
The number aligns with statements by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, who said ahead of the NATO summit in The Hague in late June that €35 billion ($41 billion) had already been pledged in the first half of the year.
This suggests partner nations committed an additional $2 billion in aid over the past month.
According to Rutte, NATO allocated more than €50 billion in military support for Ukraine in 2024, indicating a faster pace of assistance this year.
During the summit in The Hague, Alliance members agreed to increase annual defense and security spending to 5% of GDP by 2035, citing long-term threats from Russia. Of that, 3.5% is expected to go toward core defense needs, with an additional 1.5% allocated for critical infrastructure protection, cybersecurity, innovation, civil resilience, and the defense-industrial base.
Investments in Ukraine’s defense capabilities and domestic arms industry will also count toward member states’ defense spending targets. NATO leaders emphasized that Ukraine’s security is integral to the Alliance’s broader security.
