Peru Localizes Production of Israeli PULS MLRS for its Military

Peru has selected the Israeli-made PULS multiple launch rocket system from Elbit Systems as part of its artillery modernization program, the country’s Ministry of Defense announced.

The acquisition will be carried out through a technology transfer agreement and localized production in cooperation with Peru’s state-owned arms manufacturer FAME SAC.

The PULS system is known for its high-precision fire capabilities, modular architecture, and adaptability to various vehicle platforms.

In the final selection stage, the Israeli system outperformed China’s NORINCO multiple rocket launcher, despite the latter offering a lower price.

The initial contract, valued at $60 million, includes a priority financial contribution. The volume may be adjusted depending on future operational requirements.

Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Kazakhstan, and Rwanda have previously obtained PULS systems. Peru is the first country in Latin America not only to procure the system but also to launch local production, potentially positioning itself as a regional hub for precision artillery systems.

Militarnyi previously reported that Germany’s KNDS Deutschland had integrated the NSM anti-ship missile into the EuroPULS version of the system.
