-U.S. TROOP DEPLOYMENT “DELAYED”
The U.S. is halting its rotation of some 4000 troops in Poland. “That’s just a standard delay in rotation that sometimes happens in these situations,” U.S. Vice President JD Vance said referring to Warsaw’s defense capabilities.
-DRONES OVER VILNIUS
A drone incursion into Lithuania’s airspace prompted the country’s parliament to evacuate and the inhabitants of Vilnius and its surrounding regions to seek shelter from possible attacks. Wednesday’s incident took place as Moscow threatened to retaliate against another Baltic state, Latvia, for allegedly allowing it to open its airspace to Ukrainian drone strikes against Russia, a claim which Riga and NATO military deny.
-REVIVING THE POLISH-HUNGARIAN FRIENDSHIP
Hungary’s Péter Magyar came to Poland on Tuesday for his first official trip abroad as prime minister. Budapest hopes to revive regional cooperation within the V4 format and wants to diversify its sources of energy as Viktor Orbán’s rule led to the country’s dependency on Russian fossil fuels.
