Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Moscow on Wednesday to discuss the current situation in the region, as well as the Board of Peace initiative proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
“You’ve already heard that we are prepared to allocate a billion dollars to this new structure, the Board of Peace, primarily to support the Palestinian people and to use these funds for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip and, more broadly, for resolving Palestinian issues,” Putin said.
According to Associated Press he added that he plans to discuss the possibility of using Russia’s frozen assets for this purpose with U.S. representatives who are due to arrive in Moscow later on Wednesday.
