Russia continues its attacks on Ukraine, striking civilian and critical infrastructure, wounding at least 19 people in the past 24 hours. A hotel in Sumy was hit overnight, sparking a major fire that forced the evacuation of dozens. Additional missile strikes were reported while emergency crews battled the blaze. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that new trilateral peace talks could take place in early March, potentially in Abu Dhabi.
On the battlefield, Russian forces are continuing their offensive in the Donbas with heavy bombardment. New video shows Russian forces using white phosphorus munitions to strike residential neighborhoods in Kostiantynivka — a weapon that burns everything it touches. Shortly afterwards, a 1,500-kilogram aerial bomb hit the area. On Friday, Zelenskyy met with Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico to discuss the dispute over damage to the Druzhba oil pipeline. Hungary and Slovakia are pushing for a joint inspection to assess the pipeline’s condition.
