Russian military expert and Captain 3rd Rank Maxim Klimov publicly spoke about systemic problems in Russian artillery. According to him, the Russian Armed Forces are facing a critical shortcoming in the quality of their ammunition: shells fly unpredictably due to varying propellant weights, and some are completely unusable.
Klimov stated bluntly: there’s a serious crisis in Russian artillery. The problem isn’t the soldiers, but the quality of the ammunition. According to him, the shells have different propellant weights, which results in different ranges and accuracy.
"We have huge problems with artillery. With accuracy. With ammunition. And this isn’t about Korean shells—they’re our own," he said.
According to the expert, the problem is so widespread that volunteers are forced to set up makeshift workshops: manually weighing gunpowder, re-chasing charges, and adjusting ammunition using standard medical scales. In fact, we are talking about an attempt to hide a manufacturing defect that is being delivered en masse to the troops.
Klimov directly blamed the military acceptance system and the leadership of the Missile and Artillery Directorate. He noted that the troops were receiving a large number of substandard ammunition, while the officials responsible for this continued to hold their positions. According to him, the situation with heavy munitions and attack UAVs also remains critical, and key officials in the Ministry of Defense have still not been held accountable.
Essentially, the Russian army is unable to ensure consistent accuracy and is forced to compensate for defects with makeshift methods. The occupiers are suffering losses due to their own industrial collapse and continue to wage war with low-quality equipment.
