Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a Russian command post on Arabat Spit in the Kherson region.
This is evidenced by high thermal signatures recorded by NASA’s FIRMS satellite monitoring service, indicating a large fire.
According to the service, the hotspot was recorded at 02:58 am at coordinates 46.05856, 34.84056.
In addition to satellite data, local residents reported an attack by six strike drones that caused the fire.
Russian forces have established a large military base, the headquarters of the Dnepr Group of Forces, and training grounds on the Arabat Spit.
The main headquarters of Russian forces in this sector was deployed in the village of Shchaslyvtseve on the site of the seized recreation center Brigantina.
Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly visited the site in 2023.
Ukrainian forces repeatedly targeted the area where Russian forces and command structures are based.
On November 1, 2023, Ukrainian forces struck the command post of the Russian Dnepr group with Storm Shadow cruise missiles, killing three Russian staff officers.

According to photos from the burial ceremony of the killed officers, those killed were:
- Colonel Vadim Viktorovich Dobryakov — operational duty officer, deputy head of the control center of the Airborne Forces Command;
- Colonel Alexey Nikolaevich Koblov — head of the department for planning fire strikes in the operational directorate of the Airborne Forces Headquarters;
- Colonel Alexander Nikolaevich Galkin — operational duty officer, deputy head of the control center of the Airborne Forces Command.
Alexey Koblov had participated in the war against Georgia in Abkhazia and in operations in the North Caucasus.
