Russian forces redeploy airborne units from the Prydniprovske sector to the Orikhiv axis in order to sustain the intensity of their assault operations. At the same time, the Russian troops are withdrawing in the opposite direction those units that have suffered significant losses. Ukrainian forces continue to inflict losses on the Russian forces.
Vladyslav Voloshyn, Spokesperson for the Defense Forces of the South says that on the Orikhiv axis, Russian troops have intensified assault operations near Shcherbaky and Pavlivka, attempting to expand the frontline. “It is also worth mentioning the Orikhiv axis, where the enemy is trying to open a new sector of the front, carrying out assault operations near the settlement of Shcherbaky,” he said.
According to the spokesperson, Ukrainian forces are already recording combat engagements in this area, indicating increased enemy activity and attempts to widen the combat zone in the Zaporizhzhia region.
“We have also recorded clashes there, as well as near the settlement of Pavlivka – slightly east of Stepnohirsk,” Voloshyn added.
Ukrainian units are acting preemptively, limiting the enemy’s assault potential in this direction. Although Russian sabotage groups are attempting to approach Novodanilovka, Ukrainian defenses remain stable and prevent the enemy from entering Orikhiv. Unlike in Ukraine, where official sources promptly refute fakes with specific geodata, in Russia, military leadership continues to disseminate false information about "successes" to create a false picture of the situation on the front. The situation in the Novopavlivka area also remains under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, despite Russian propaganda claims of territorial control. Earlier, Vladislav Voloshin Russian said that soldiers from the 229th Airborne Regiment are practicing advancing along gas pipelines at training grounds in the temporarily occupied territories, with a view to using the same approach in the Orikhiv direction. "They have a model of the pipeline with various elements and are practicing moving and transporting logistics along the pipeline," he explained. The speaker pointed out that the occupiers in this section of the front want to move along gas pipelines, as they did in Avdiivka and Kupyansk.
Voloshin noted that Russia is preparing to intensify its assaults and is attempting to concentrate its forces closer to the town of Orikhiv, near the villages of Malaya Tokmachka and Malye Shcherbaki. Russia is seeking to have its army enter Orekhov and consolidate its position in the surrounding area. Over the past four years, residents of Orikhiv, in Zaporizhia, have learned to live between explosions, but recently the situation has worsened significantly. The occupiers are increasingly hunting locals with FPV drones, and they destroyed the crossing into the city with aerial bombs. Departure to Orikhiv is only at dawn. The military warns: the danger increases monthly. "The kill zone expands by several kilometers practically every month. The biggest threat is drones, which hunt both military personnel and, unfortunately, civilians," the soldiers explain. Despite constant danger and evacuation orders, about five hundred people still live in Orikhiv.
