Russian military equipment is being actively destroyed not only at the front thanks to the successful work of Ukrainian soldiers, but also in the rear as a result of various omissions on the part of the occupiers themselves. Since the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, media outlets have repeatedly reported enemy losses in military equipment located far from the front lines. This time, a similar incident has emerged, occurring at a Rosgvardia base in Rostov on September 4 of last year. According to the VChK-OGPU public group, soldiers set fire to a helicopter carrying paratrooper equipment and pyrotechnics while burning trash . One of the occupiers, following orders from Nikolai Novoselov, the fire safety official, burned the trash. However, the fire spread to dry grass and then toward the helicopter. As a result, the helicopter burned. Damage to the unit was estimated at 574 million rubles . The article notes that the burning of garbage was carried out under conditions of a ban on lighting fires on the territory of the military base. Novoselov was held responsible for the incident. The court fined him 350,000 rubles and banned him from holding senior civil service positions for one year.
Earlier, media reported that Russian soldiers are destroying their own equipment on the Kherson axis, the number of deserters is growing. Russian Russia’s 24th Motor Rifle Regiment is real example. Because of the large number of “refuseniks” and those who have self-owillfully left their unit, the situation in the regiment is critical. This resulted from the command’s brutal orders, which led the unit to suffer heavy losses, and from soldiers being left in positions without electronic-warfare coverage against Ukrainian drones.
Recall, Russian soldiers are being taught by Ukrainian fighters how to sabotage their own equipment, to profit from the war without endangering their lives.
Around 4,000 Russian recruits have enrolled on an "educational platform," set up in September 2022. Known as the "Atesh School," promotional material for the organization said its students "have mastered the art of breaking equipment and sabotaging orders." "Students of the Atesh School know that there is no need to go to war if you can get good money in the rear, repairing your equipment and not risking your life," one Telegram post read. The "school" describes itself on its website as a "military partisan movement" operating in the areas of Ukraine controlled by Russian forces. It also claims to exist within Russia, with Russian citizens and Crimean Tatars, an indigenous group from the annexed peninsula, involved in its creation.
