Russians Dropped Bomb on Their Own Railroad in Belgorod Region

An aerial bomb dropped by a Russian aircraft caused a train to derail in the Belgorod region.

This was reported by the ASTRA.

The incident occurred in the Yakovlevsky District, where the aerial bomb fell directly onto the railroad tracks. The munition did not detonate, but damaged approximately 25 meters of track.

The engineer of the “Razumne-Tomarovka” train, which was carrying 15 passengers, noticed the damage in time and applied the emergency brakes. Despite this, the train derailed.

A 75-year-old woman was injured in the incident. Sappers arrived at the scene and removed a FAB-500 aerial bomb.

Initially, Vyacheslav Gladkov, governor of the Belgorod region, stated that the derailment could have been caused by an explosion. He later edited the post and removed any mention of this version.

According to journalists, since the beginning of 2026, Russian aircraft have dropped aerial bombs on Russian territory and temporarily occupied territories at least 24 times, either accidentally or due to technical malfunctions.

Previously, in October 2025, it was reported that since the beginning of that year, Russian aircraft had accidentally dropped at least 127 bombs on Russian territory and the occupied regions of Ukraine.

Russian authorities typically attempt to conceal such incidents or minimize their publicity.
