On the night of November 5, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck important Russian targets. Among them were the launch site for Shahed drones in Donetsk, oil refineries in Volgograd, Russia, and oil facilities in Crimea, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to Ukraine’s General Staff, the night operation targeted the Shahed storage and launch base located on the territory of Donetsk airport.

Explosions and a powerful secondary detonation were recorded at the site. The task was carried out by units of the missile forces and artillery, the Unmanned Systems Forces, and the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Ukrainian Defense Forces also struck the Volgograd oil refinery in Russia.

According to the data provided, the refinery’s annual processing capacity is 15.7 million tons, which is about 5.6% of the total processing capacity in Russia. Explosions and a fire were recorded at the target site.

In addition, Ukrainian units struck 3 fuel and lubricant storage facilities in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

In particular, at the oil depot in the village of Gvardeyskoye, hits on a tank and cisterns on the loading rack were confirmed.

At 2 bases in Simferopol, damage to tank farms and fires in fuel tanks were recorded.

Ukraine’s General Staff emphasizes that the Ukrainian Defense Forces are consistently implementing a set of measures to destroy critical elements of Russia’s state military-industrial infrastructure, both on its territory and in the temporarily occupied territories.

The goal is to deprive Russia of its offensive capabilities and the ability to continue its aggression.

Powerful explosions were heard in the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk on the evening of November 5. Local channels reported a missile strike; it is known that the target could have been a Russian ammunition depot. It is reported that the explosions occurred in the evening in one of the districts of the occupied city — preliminarily, the Kuibyshevskyi district was under attack. The first explosion was accompanied by a strong shockwave and the sounds of numerous secondary detonations, which may indicate that a Russian ammunition depot was hit.

After the explosions, large plumes of smoke rose over the affected area, and a strong fire broke out. In the published videos, faint explosions can be heard — these are ammunition detonating that was not destroyed at the moment of impact. Additionally, on November 4, the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit two important Russian facilities during the night — an oil refinery in the Nizhny Novgorod region and a chemical plant in Bashkortostan. In addition, two substations in two Russian regions and an ammunition depot in temporarily occupied Dovzhansk in the Luhansk region were destroyed.
