On the evening of February 15, Russia’s border regions of Belgorod and Bryansk came under drone and missile attacks by the Ukrainian army. Local Telegram channels reported the strikes. The primary targets of the missiles and drones were energy infrastructure facilities. Belgorod Region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov stated that a thermal power plant was damaged as a result of the missile attack, leaving part of the population without electricity. Bryansk Region Governor Aleksandr Bogomaz also reported that attacks on energy facilities had caused power outages. Both governors noted that emergency repair crews had been dispatched to the sites. No casualties have been reported. Footage recorded by local residents and shared on Telegram channels shows air defense systems being activated and explosions occurring. Residents also confirmed that some settlements were left without electricity. At the same time, heating supply to homes has been suspended. According to a statement by Russia’s Ministry of Defense, the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kaluga, Tula, and Moscow regions were subjected to drone attacks, and air defense systems neutralized the drones.
