Slovakia threatens Ukraine after Druzhba pipeline hit | Ukraine Brief

Tensions over oil supplies to Slovakia and Hungary via the Druzhba pipeline are rising, as Robert Fico threatens to halt emergency electricity to Ukraine. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha reiterated that Hungarian and Slovakian ultimatums should be directed only at the Kremlin, saying, “These two countries cannot hold the entire EU hostage.

We call on both to engage in constructive cooperation and responsible behavior.” The EU failed to pass its 20th sanctions package against Russia after a Hungarian veto, though Kaja Kallas said efforts would continue. Meanwhile, Kyrylo Budanov spoke about a possible upcoming prisoner exchange, as 7000 Ukrainians are still in Russian captivity. Latests Russian strikes killed at least four civilians overnight, while Ukraine carried out a drone attack on a key Druzhba pipeline station in Russia’s Tatarstan region, 1,200 kilometers from Ukraine’s border.
