The number of offensive operations carried out by the Ukrainian Defense Forces currently exceeds that of Russian troops.
This was stated by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi in an exclusive interview with Militarnyi, commenting on the operational situation as of May 14.
According to him, this result is the outcome of systematic efforts to inflict casualties on enemy personnel and reduce their offensive capabilities.
Syrskyi emphasized that the continuous destruction of the Russian army’s manpower directly affects its ability to maintain the intensity of its assault operations.
This is not only about deterring attacks but also about changing the dynamics of combat operations in certain sectors of the front.
According to the Commander-in-Chief’s assessment, Ukrainian units are increasingly imposing their own pace of operations on the enemy.
This means that the Defense Forces are increasingly seizing the initiative at the tactical level, forcing Russian troops to react to Ukrainian actions.
This shift in the balance of power has been made possible by a combination of precision strikes, the depletion of enemy reserves, and constant pressure on its forward units.
Syrsky did not specify the exact figures for these actions, but he explicitly noted that as of the day before the interview was recorded, Ukrainian activity exceeded that of Russia.
This may indicate local changes in the nature of combat operations, where Ukrainian forces are shifting from a purely defensive posture to more active countermeasures.
The Commander-in-Chief’s statement is significant against the backdrop of prolonged Russian offensive operations, where the pace of attacks has traditionally been considered one of the enemy’s key advantages.
As a reminder, Oleksandr Syrskyi also stated in an interview with Militarnyi that rotations in the combat zone should take place every two months.
