Syrskyi: Rotations in Combat Zones Should Occur Every Two Months

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that the rotation of military personnel in combat zones should occur every two months, provided that shifts are properly organized.

He stated this in an exclusive interview with Militarnyi.

According to Syrskyi, the current model provides for the preparation of three shifts of personnel, which allows for the continuous execution of combat missions with the planned replacement of units.

“All conditions are in place to prepare three shifts of military personnel in the combat zone and ensure rotation,” he explained.

According to the Commander-in-Chief, approximately one month should be allocated directly to the performance of combat missions in the combat zone.

After that, the unit must be withdrawn for rest, replenishment, training, or the performance of other tasks away from the front lines.

Compliance with rotation schedules is monitored on a regular basis.

Syrskyi said that on the 15th of each month, a separate review is conducted of the organization and implementation of troop rotations.

At the same time, the Commander-in-Chief acknowledged that the operational situation does not always allow for the replacement of units within the specified timeframes.

In cases of an escalation of the situation or active combat operations, decisions regarding the postponement of rotations are made taking into account the actual situation on a specific section of the front.

This approach is intended to systematize personnel rotations and reduce the prolonged, continuous deployment of troops in areas of intense combat operations.
