Ukrainian troops have thwarted a massive Russian attack in the direction of Pokrovsk city in eastern Donetsk region, inflicting heavy losses on Russians. The operation was carried out by drone operators of the 46th Separate Airmobile Brigade of the Air Assault Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Russian troops attempted to attack the brigade’s position, deploying up to four units of armored equipment. During the battle, Podillia paratroopers of Ukrainian airborne troops destroyed one Russian tank and two armored combat vehicles. Moreover, over 20 Russian troops were eliminated and three more were injured. Combat video released in social media shows the strikes on multiple Russian military equipment, troops scattered on a snowy road and forest in various parts of the frontline. The strikes caused fire. It’s worth noting that being a strategic logistic and transport hub, Pokrovsk has been a major point of battles in the past months. Another video shared in social media captures combat operations of Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Ivan Franko Group against Russian vehicles in depth beyond the frontline. UAV operators of the group are seen launching precision strikes at Russian military equipment and troops. Yet another operation by Ukraine’s Signum Battalion that specializes in drone warfare and battlefield reconnaissance, has eliminated a large number of Russian servicemen and weaponry in the frontline with the use of night vision drones. Despite Russian troops’ attempts to hide in heat-resistant coats, they are intercepted and destroyed by Ukrainian drones.
