Operation Project Freedom will be paused for a short period to allow time to assess whether an agreement can be finalized and signed, U.S. President Donald Trump said. He added that the naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz will remain in place. The announcement came shortly after Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the combat phase against Iran had ended and the U.S. would shift focus to the new operation.
