Turkey Tests Korkut 25 Anti-Drone System

Turkey tested the armored mobile Korkut 25 anti-drone system in the presence of delegations from 15 countries.

Representatives of defense institutions and military experts attended that event and had the opportunity to assess the system’s capabilities in field conditions.

ASELSAN said participants were shown in detail the effectiveness of the Korkut 25 in realistic scenarios.

During the demonstration, air targets were detected using the ASELSAN AURA radar with an active electronically scanned array. AURA has a range of 25 kilometers.

After detecting targets, the system automatically aimed the turret equipped with ATOM 25 programmable munitions.

These munitions detonate near the target using an electronic fuse and a programming module.

At the moment of detonation, a cloud of submunitions is formed, significantly increasing hit density.

This approach increases the likelihood of destroying even small drones.

The stabilized remotely controlled turret is equipped with daytime and thermal imaging cameras, as well as a laser rangefinder.

During the tests, special attention was paid to the system’s capabilities for detecting and identifying targets using artificial intelligence algorithms.

The system’s declared effective range exceeds 1,000 meters, making it suitable for protecting bases, convoys, and forward positions.

This year, it was also reported that the Turkish Korkut air defense system will receive a Tatra chassis and will be localized in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
