UK Plans to Involve Ukrainian Specialists to Help Shoot Down Drones in Middle East

The United Kingdom plans to deploy British and Ukrainian specialists to support its partners in the Middle East.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced this in a statement addressing the situation involving Iran.

The specialists will work together to counter Iranian drone attacks that pose a threat to regional stability and civilian lives.

“We will also involve experts from Ukraine, alongside our own specialists, to help our partners in the Gulf intercept Iranian drones that are attacking them,” the British prime minister said.

In his evening address, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine is ready to share its air defense expertise.

“Everyone can now see that our defense experience is, in many ways, indispensable. We are ready to share this experience and to help those nations that helped us, Ukraine, this winter,” the president said.

Ukrainian service members have unique, hands-on experience in countering Iranian-made kamikaze drones in real combat conditions. The United Kingdom expects that this expertise will help more effectively eliminate threats facing partner countries.
