Convicted war criminal Igor Girkin has said in a new letter that Russia’s economic and military problems are rapidly multiplying and the country is getting closer to failure. In a letter published by his comrades, he predicts severe trials for Russia that are currently being ignored by most.
"Yes, the news around us is not at all encouraging. Economic, production and logistical failures are growing more and more clearly. This is no longer just a premonition of a thunderstorm, but an approaching storm with black clouds, lightning and rumble," writes Girkin.
The protracted war with Ukraine, he is sure, is exhausting Russia more and more.
"The enemy is already burning our airfields near Irkutsk, and we can’t even break through his first defensive belt in the Sumy direction. And it’s almost a year since we’re "just about to take Pokrovsk," Girkin complains.
Girkin warns that after the destruction of Iran by Western forces, a new round of pressure on Moscow will begin.
"Trump will return with different conditions – now from a position of strength," he writes.

Girkin concludes that “panic will begin as soon as a real storm hits, and then neither the economy nor the army will be able to contain its destructive force.” So, disappointment with Russian authority and president Vladimit Putin is growing in Russia. Members of Russia’s political elite are "disappointed" with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s handling of the war in Ukraine, and had hoped it would end in 2024, Meduza reported recently. Citing ten officials including two sources close to Putin’s administration, and one senator, the independent Russian media outlet said the state of the country’s economy was a particular "point of tension."
"The main emotion is disappointment," a source in the Russian government told Meduza, adding: "We expected the war to end, for the fighting to end. Fatigue has been the main feeling for a long time."
