Ukraine Introduces Upgraded Burya 2.0 Robotic Turret

The new version is compatible with both the 40mm Mk 19/RDS40/AGL 53 automatic grenade launchers and the Browning M2 heavy machine gun and its equivalents.

Burya 2.0 is an updated version of the serial Burya turret, which entered production in February 2025. The upgrade incorporates combat experience from the Ukrainian military, Frontline Robotics shared with Militarnyi.

The turret is equipped with a universal mount optimized for both weapon types and independent electric triggers for remote fire control.

In the Browning M2 configuration, the system allows remote firing from cover and includes a ballistic calculator that automatically computes trajectories. This enables effective engagement at long ranges and improves accuracy under combat conditions.

For the Mk 19/RDS40/AGL 53 grenade launchers, a mortar-like firing mode has been implemented to engage targets from protected positions. The updated ballistic calculator reduces aiming to just a few rounds, ensuring target destruction on the first or second shot.

The turret also supports an extended configuration with a magazine capacity of up to 150 rounds, increasing operational autonomy.

Burya 2.0 has a modular architecture and can integrate with ground robotic platforms, including TerMit, Gereon, THeMis, Ravlyk, Tanchik, Ardal, and others.

The turret can also be mounted on armored vehicles and, combined with other company systems, can provide a complete combat cycle from target detection to precision engagement.
