Ukraine Signs Agreement with the UK for Mass Production of Octopus Interceptor Drones

Ukraine and the United Kingdom have signed a licensing agreement to launch large-scale production of Octopus interceptor drones at UK manufacturing facilities.

Ukraine’s Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this, as reported on the Ministry of Defense website.

According to the Minister, the agreement was signed by representatives of the defense departments of both countries.

“Together with our allies, we are strengthening Ukraine’s air-defense capabilities. This is a historic precedent and an important next step that will allow Ukrainian interceptors – proven effective against Shaheds – to be produced in the United Kingdom,” Shmyhal stated.

The Minister added that mass production of the interceptors is planned, potentially reaching several thousand units per month.

The manufactured interceptor drones will be supplied to Ukraine to strengthen protection against Russian UAVs used by the invaders to attack Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure.

The UK government had already announced the agreement to produce Ukrainian Octopus interceptor drones for Ukraine back in September.

The launch of serial production of the Octopus in Ukraine, capable of shooting down Shaheds, was announced in early November.

Military engineers developed it. The system has already passed all necessary tests and received codification.

Several Ukrainian manufacturers have been granted the right to produce the Octopus – they were provided with complete technical documentation and clear requirements, enabling them to begin production immediately.
