Ukraine’s Interceptor Drones Receive Modules That Automatically Target Shahed Drones

Ukraine has developed a TFL Anti-Shahed module that automatically guides interceptor drones toward Shahed-type drones.

Militarnyi learned about the system from representatives of The Fourth Law company during the Brave1 Components exhibition.

The module is installed between a thermal imaging camera (typically the Kurbas-640a) and the flight controller or video transmitter.

The Ukrainian company Odd Systems developed the Kurbas-640a camera.

The system autonomously detects drones in the thermal image, using AI to analyze the target’s movement, thermal signature, and other parameters.

After detecting a target, the system generates a green outline around it and provides stable tracking, operating in parallel without interfering with the aircraft’s flight.

The pilot independently chooses the interception direction.

The Fourth Law company is also working on expanding the module’s capabilities.

“An autonomous guidance system and an automatic strike-decision mechanism will be added,” the company said.

The camera’s operating altitude with the module is up to 5,000 meters. Target detection range depends on weather conditions and varies from 50 to 1,000 meters. The stated detection accuracy is 80%.

The cost of the camera with the targeting module is about $800. The module alone will cost $300.

It was previously reported that several Ukrainian manufacturers have begun mass production of the Octopus interceptor drone, developed by military engineers.
