Two production facilities have been destroyed in Atlant Aero drone manufacturing plant in Taganrog city in Russia’s Rostov region as s result of Ukrainian attack, Ukrainian military confirmed on Friday. The strike was carried out by Ukrainian Neptune cruise missiles on April 19. It caused fire on the territory of the facility. Four other production facilities in the factory were damaged as a result of the attack. Atlant Aero carries out the full cycle of design, production, and testing of Molniya-type strike and reconnaissance UAVs, as well as components for Orion UAVs. The latter weighs about one ton and is capable of carrying up to 250 kg of payload, which can include aerial photography systems, radio reconnaissance modules, optoelectronic systems, KAB-20 guided air bombs, Kh-50 and Kh-BPLA missiles, among others. The military stressed that destroying this facility would significantly curb the enemy’s capacity to manufacture drones, thereby diminishing Russia’s potential to carry out attacks against civilian areas within Ukraine. The Ukrainian military has also confirmed the strike on a Russian patrol ship in Russian-annexed Crimea Peninsula. The attack on a Project 22460 patrol ship of Russia’s FSB Border Service was launched in Sevastopol city. As a result of the attack, the vessel’s combat bridge was damaged, the Ukrainian military confirmed on Friday.
