Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with military officers on the one-year anniversary of Ukrainian incursion into Russia’s Kursk region. According to Associated Press he paid a visit to a command post of the regiment that played a vital role in the operation. Zelenskyy met on Wednesday with the fighters of the 225th Separate Assault Regiment stationed in Sumy region, receiving a briefing by commander Oleh Shyriaiev and handing out state awards. "Thank you for taking the war from our land to their Kursk region," Zelenskyy said. Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks with U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff in Moscow on Wednesday, the Kremlin said, days before the White House’s deadline for Russia to reach a peace deal with Ukraine or potentially face severe economic penalties that could also hit countries buying its oil.
