Ukrainian UASAT-NANO Communications Satellites Fleet to Comprise 300 Units

The Ukrainian communications satellite fleet within the UASAT LEO program will comprise 300 units.

Stetman CEO Dmytro Stetsenko announced this in an interview with Militarnyi (available in early access on Patreon and Base).

“Basically, we will need three hundred satellites for maximum global coverage,” he said.

Stetsenko also added that Ukraine may, in the future, help its European partners with inexpensive satellite communication technologies for the sake of “group security.”

The first Ukrainian satellite will be launched this October using a SpaceX launch vehicle. By 2027, 120 satellites are to be put into orbit, with another 100–105 units expected to be launched each year thereafter.

The service life of a single device is 5 to 7 years, so in three years, additional satellites will be launched to replace the old ones.

We also have a blog that explains what the UASAT GEO 74 satellite terminal is, how it can be useful, where it can replace Starlink, what it has “under the hood,” and how much it costs.
