Unknown Drones Spotted on Border of Denmark and Germany

Unknown drones were spotted on the border of Germany and Denmark, in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein.

This is reported by NDR.

The incident occurred on Friday night, when several drones were spotted. According to law enforcement, the case is being considered as a possible case of espionage.

The police are in ‘constant and intensive information exchange’ with the federal government and the Bundeswehr and have been put on high alert.

In cooperation with other North German states, drone protection measures are being strengthened. At the same time, the exact number of drones and their locations are not disclosed.

The origin of the drones and the purpose of their flights remain unknown.

Schleswig-Holstein has already experienced similar incidents. At the beginning of the month, special police units detained a cargo ship on the Kiel Canal, which was probably used as a base for launching drones.

On August 26th, a drone was allegedly launched from this vessel for reconnaissance and video recording. The investigation is ongoing.

It is worth noting that a similar incident in Denmark has also been linked to ships and vessels with ties to Russia.

During these incidents, the Russian large amphibious assault ship Alexander Shabalin of the Baltic Fleet based in Kaliningrad was off the coast of Denmark with its identification system turned off.

In addition, there were merchant ships near Copenhagen that are linked to Russian structures.
