When Ukraine starts using its own ballistics on a large scale , Russia’s air defense systems will not be able to withstand the load and the enemy’s military capabilities will be reduced to ruins. This was stated by former spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, military expert Vladislav Seleznev in an interview with Radio NV .
He was asked to comment on the words of Defense Minister Denis Shmyhal that Ukraine is "close to its own ballistics." Seleznev noted that he would not predict when the Ukrainian Armed Forces would receive Ukrainian-made ballistic weapons, but expressed confidence that this would significantly change the situation.
"It is difficult to say what timeframe is needed to implement these ambitious tasks. The key factor is the availability of resources, in particular financial, logistical, human, and industrial capacities. All of this is an extremely weighty argument. But there is another important component – the factor of our motivation and understanding of the need to have long-range powerful weapons that will reach, including remote areas of the Russian Federation. And which we will be able to deliver to the army independently, without waiting for acts of goodwill from our Western partners," he said. Seleznev said that about a year ago he spoke with the general director of the design bureau of the corporation that is engaged in the production of Ukrainian Neptune missiles.
"And then he told me that in the future the enemy will face many unpleasant surprises related to the increase in the power and range of Ukrainian missiles. I hope that this is not only the case of the Neptunes, which have repeatedly demonstrated their extremely serious and effective capabilities, but also the implementation of other missile programs," the former spokesman for the General Staff emphasized.
Seleznev commented on the warning of Russian officials that Russia will face "unprecedented attacks by 500-600 drones" from Ukraine. According to him, even the officials of the aggressor country themselves do not doubt that missiles will also be made in Ukraine.
"Of course, we still have work to do. But it’s not for nothing that Russian z-publics and z-propagandists have been extremely nervous lately," Seleznev emphasized.
According to him, Ukrainians are critically dependent on the creation of long-range and powerful weapons, because with them we will be able to destroy the enemy’s offensive potential.
"The history of military confrontation shows that it is extremely difficult for us to break through to Moscow, its city center and the Moscow region. There is a fairly powerful, extensive network of air defense and missile defense. But we are currently using our attack drones. And if we use our ballistics more actively and on a larger scale, how high is the probability that Russian air defense will work with the same efficiency? Will it be possible to "catch the woof" and, accordingly, will we be able to destroy objects? It is very likely that they will quickly turn into ruins," Seleznev noted.
