The US and Israeli air forces have conducted a major aerial operation aimed at key military sites situated to the north of Iran’s capital Tehran, with the month-long war showing little sign of easing. According to local sources and military analysts, roughly 20 highly precise strikes hit missile-related facilities in the mountainous Darband region as well as in the Gulab-Dareh area. Residents in northern parts of the city reported powerful explosions, while large fires were seen burning at multiple sites. Initial reports suggest that underground missile storage and launch complexes belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, known as IRGC, were among the main targets in the Darband mountains. These installations are believed to play a key role in coordinating Tehran’s air defense network. In Gulab-Dareh, the strikes allegedly hit covert facilities linked to the development and testing of missile propulsion systems. The operation is said to have involved advanced weaponry, including Israel’s “Black Sparrow” aeroballistic missiles and U.S. B-2 Spirit bombers. Reports indicate that the accuracy of the strike points to the likely suppression of Iran’s air defense systems, including the S-300 and Bavar-373. The force of the blasts shattered windows in nearby residential areas, sparking panic among civilians. Security forces quickly cordoned off the affected zones, while emergency vehicles were seen heading toward military installations. Striking these heavily fortified northern areas – often described as a “mountain stronghold” – is widely interpreted as a signal of intent by the United States and Israel to significantly degrade Iran’s missile infrastructure. The operation is believed to be a response to Iran’s recent actions in the Strait of Hormuz and missile strikes targeting Gulf states. Thick plumes of smoke continue to rise over the city, and the sound of aircraft remains audible, raising concerns that further attacks may follow. In another operation, a petrochemical facility in Bandar Imam in southwestern Khuzestan province was hit in an air attack by US and Israeli forces, causing damage to parts of the site, said a provincial official on Saturday. At least five people were injured in attacks on the Mahshahr petrochemical zone and Bandar Imam, Khuzestan’s deputy governor added. Meanwhile, Iran launched missile strikes at Tel Aviv last night, leaving four people injured, while fresh blasts were heard in Jerusalem, after the military warned of incoming fire. Over 1,900 people have been killed and 20,000 injured since the start of the joint US-Israeli joint attacks dubbed Epic Fury, according to the International Red Coss and Red Crescent Societies. More than 115,000 civilian facilities have been damaged. Strikes on Iran have increasingly targeted economic and industrial sites, raising fears of wider disruptions to global energy supplies and deepening the conflict’s impact beyond the battlefield.
