Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy paid tribute to Holocaust victims on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, which marks the 1945 liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau.
According to Associated Press Zelenskyy placed candles at the Babyn Yar Holocaust Memorial in Kyiv, together with the representatives of Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers and members of diplomatic corps.
Zelenskyy said that Holocaust is a reminder that humanity must come together to defend itself from the hatred.
"If we do not gather… then fascism has a chance to be born, to be reborn in one country or another, and to wage war against humanity,” said Zelenskyy.
