1 hospitalized after being attacked by two large dogs in Maple Heights

MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio (WJW) – One person is being hospitalized after Maple Heights police officers found her being attacked by two large dogs on Sunday. 

According to a press release from the Maple Heights Police Department, it was reported that a female was being attacked by two large dogs just before 2 p.m. on the 5200 block if Henry Street. 

Officers arrived at the scene as the victim was “being actively attacked” by the dogs.

According to the release, one of the officers fired his gun, hitting both of the dogs. Both dogs died at the scene. 

The victim was then taken to Metro Hospital to treat her injuries. 

Witnesses at the scene told the officers that the victim was walking both of the dogs when they “turned on her” and began to attack.
