(KRON) — California Gov. Gavin Newsom responded to a social media video of Vice President JD Vance visiting Disneyland with his family Saturday.
The governor’s statement was seemingly made in response to the ongoing deportations carried out by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents at the order of the Trump administration.
“Hope you enjoy your family time, [JD Vance],” Newsom wrote on his gubernatorial social media account in response to the video. “The families you’re tearing apart certainly won’t.”
Newsom’s press office also responded to the video on social media.
“35% of Anaheim’s residents are immigrants,” Newsom’s press office wrote on social media. “Disneyland doesn’t run without them.”
The footage shared on social media showed the second family going to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and the high-end 21 Royal restaurant in the park, KTLA reports.
